the river the London Eye and the South Bank walk complete the view.
Buckingham Palace closes or opens the day
depending on when the guard changes, with Trafalgar Square, St James’s Park,

How Many Landmarks Fit into One Day
Realistically, four or five major
landmarks work in a full day, with photo pauses in between. That figure
assumes you go inside two or three of them; a purely exterior panoramic route
covers eight or nine. The arithmetic is simple. The Tower absorbs two to three
hours once you’ve queued for the Crown Jewels and walked the walls, Westminster
Abbey takes 90 minutes with an audio guide, and St Paul’s demands an hour
before the dome climb.
Half days exist for travellers with a
tight window, typically covering the Westminster cluster plus a drive past the
City landmarks with no interior visits. Most first-time visitors choose the
full day and treat it as an orientation exercise, deciding from the car which
places deserve a longer return visit. Getting inside those places on time
depends on the tickets.
