Long-Distance Chauffeur
A long-distance chauffeur booking is a
single door-to-door journey of a hundred miles or more, priced as one fixed
fare rather than by the hour or the meter. Westway Ride runs these across the
UK as part of our chauffeur
services network: no changes, no platforms, no waiting on a concourse, and
the same car and driver from your address to your destination.
The case for it is mostly arithmetic.
Rail sells seats; a chauffeur sells the vehicle, so for two or more
travelling together the numbers close quickly, and for three or four with
luggage the car usually wins outright. You keep your bags with you, work or
sleep through the drive, and arrive at the actual address rather than the
nearest station.
Distance changes how a booking is built.
Hourly hire carries a mileage allowance of roughly 12 miles per hour booked,
which suits a city day but not a cross-country run, so long-distance
journeys are quoted point to point on distance, duration and vehicle class
instead. Comfort stops and the chauffeur’s own rest breaks are planned into the
schedule from the start, which keeps the drive both legal and unhurried.

The long way, made comfortable
A long run need not be a long ordeal.
Stretch out in a quiet cabin, let an experienced chauffeur take the motorway
miles, and spend the time as you please. We plan the route, time the breaks and
account for traffic, so a journey of two or three hundred miles arrives on
schedule rather than leaving you wrung out at the far end.
The difference shows up on arrival.
Nobody has spent four hours in the outside lane, nobody has queued for a car
park, and the meeting or the family occasion starts with everyone in reasonable
shape. Credentials sit behind all of it.
How Long-Distance Fares Are Calculated
Three things set the price: distance,
expected duration and vehicle class. The quote you accept is the amount you
pay, so traffic on the M6 or a diversion around roadworks does not change it,
and any stops agreed at booking are already inside the figure.
Two extras are worth knowing about
upfront. Journeys ending far from base may carry a repositioning element, and
multi-day itineraries where the chauffeur stays with you overnight include an
accommodation charge, quoted before you confirm rather than added afterwards.
Businesses running these routes regularly should look at a corporate
account with consolidated monthly invoicing, or full-day hire
where the day involves several stops rather than one long leg.

Often, yes. Rail charges per seat and we charge per vehicle, so for two travelling together the fares compare closely and for three or four the car is usually cheaper, before counting taxis at either end.
Yes, and it’s a common executive booking. Your chauffeur waits in the destination city while you attend meetings and drives you back the same afternoon or evening, all on one fare and one vehicle.
The same chauffeur can stay with you for the duration, with overnight accommodation arranged and quoted upfront. Alternatively we schedule a fresh vehicle for the return leg, whichever suits the itinerary better.
