Rail sells seats; a chauffeur sells the vehicle, so for two or more
travelling together the numbers close quickly, and for three or four with

sleep through the drive, and arrive at the actual address rather than the
nearest station.
Distance changes how a booking is built.
Hourly hire carries a mileage allowance of roughly 12 miles per hour booked,
which suits a city day but not a cross-country run, so long-distance
journeys are quoted point to point on distance, duration and vehicle class
instead. Comfort stops and the chauffeur’s own rest breaks are planned into the
schedule from the start, which keeps the drive both legal and unhurried.

HOW LONG-DISTANCE FARES ARE CALCULATED
Three things set the price: distance,
expected duration and vehicle class. The quote you accept is the amount you
pay, so traffic on the M6 or a diversion around roadworks does not change it,
and any stops agreed at booking are already inside the figure.
Two extras are worth knowing about
upfront. Journeys ending far from base may carry a repositioning element, and
multi-day itineraries where the chauffeur stays with you overnight include an
accommodation charge, quoted before you confirm rather than added afterwards.
Businesses running these routes regularly should look at a corporate
account with consolidated monthly invoicing, or full-day hire
where the day involves several stops rather than one long leg.

On distance, duration and vehicle class, not by the hour. Hourly packages carry a mileage allowance of roughly 12 miles per hour booked, which a cross-country run would exceed, so these journeys are always quoted point to point.
On longer journeys we build in comfort stops for you and the chauffeur’s required rest breaks, planned so they barely affect arrival time. On a seven or eight hour route to Scotland that scheduling is what keeps the drive both safe and legal.
Often, yes. Rail charges per seat and we charge per vehicle, so for two travelling together the fares compare closely and for three or four the car is usually cheaper, before counting taxis at either end.
Yes, and it’s a common executive booking. Your chauffeur waits in the destination city while you attend meetings and drives you back the same afternoon or evening, all on one fare and one vehicle.
The same chauffeur can stay with you for the duration, with overnight accommodation arranged and quoted upfront. Alternatively we schedule a fresh vehicle for the return leg, whichever suits the itinerary better.
