a pre-booked private car that runs from your arrivals hall to the door of the
property you are staying in. The distinction that matters is the door. A
postcode drops you on a pavement near the hotel; a chauffeur who knows the
property takes you to the entrance the porters actually work from. Westway Ride

Most central hotels sit 15 to 20 miles
from the airport and take 45 to 60 minutes by road, depending on the
postcode and the hour you land. Fares open at £110 in a Mercedes E
Class, fixed the moment you book, with meet and greet, live flight tracking,
terminal parking and 60 minutes of free waiting from touchdown already counted
inside the figure.
Hotel arrivals carry their own problems,
which is why they deserve their own page. Long-haul flights land at 06:00
against a 15:00 check-in. Five-star forecourts allow a two-minute stop and
nothing longer. The Savoy has the only right-hand drive-in forecourt in London.
Claridge’s works from Brook Street, The Dorchester from its Park Lane entrance,
The Connaught from Carlos Place. Knowing which is which is the service, not the
mileage.
Rail cannot do this part. The Heathrow Express reaches Paddington in 15 minutes and the Piccadilly line runs cheaply into the centre, but both leave you and your cases some distance from reception, and a second taxi at the far end usually erases the saving.
Travel Time, Distance & Pricing
Travel time to a central hotel averages 45 to 60 minutes, and the spread comes from the address rather than the terminal. The standard line runs the M4 and A4 through Hammersmith. For Marylebone and Bloomsbury properties we take the Westway, and eastern hotels are reached along the Embankment.
Pricing is set by distance from a published sheet, so a Kensington hotel and a Canary Wharf hotel are priced differently despite both being London. Fares start at £110, all-inclusive, with the terminal drop-off charge, parking and waiting already inside the total. No surcharge applies for a rush-hour arrival or a 02:00 landing. Vehicle class is the only element that raises the figure.
