HEATHROW TERMINAL 2 THE QUEEN'S TERMINAL
Queen Elizabeth II opened the rebuilt terminal in June 2014 after a £2.5 billion redevelopment, and the name stuck. The building handles over 18.5 million passengers a year across roughly 29 airlines, almost all of them Star Alliance members. ITA Airways joined the roster in March 2026 with a double-daily Rome Fiumicino service.
Size works in your favour here. T2 is around 40 per cent smaller than Terminal 5 and runs a single departures level, so walking distances stay short. It was also the first Heathrow terminal to run next-generation CT scanners, which is why the 100ml liquid rule no longer applies here. Landside, though, the layout of the building decides where you are met.
