Hourly Chauffeur Hire
Hire a chauffeur by the hour in London from £45. Unlimited stops and waiting, bags carried, parking and Congestion Charge included. Three-hour minimum.
By the hour, at your direction
Hourly chauffeur hire is a booking
where the car and driver stay with you for a block of time rather than a single
journey, going wherever you direct and waiting at every stop. The trade is
simple: you stop paying per trip and start paying per hour, and the day stops
being a sequence of separate transactions. Westway Ride offers it across London
and over 35 UK cities as part of our chauffeur services
range.
Rates start at £45 an hour in a
Mercedes-Benz E-Class, £55 in a V-Class, £65 in an S-Class or BMW 7 Series and
£75 in a Range Rover. The minimum booking is three hours, and you can
extend in 30-minute increments at the same rate. Every quote covers the
chauffeur, the vehicle, fuel, all waiting time at every stop, ULEZ compliance,
parking and the Congestion Charge where a journey enters the zone.
That last item matters more than it used
to. The Congestion Charge rose to £18 a day in January 2026, on top of
central London parking at roughly £15 to £25 per stop. Three stops on a Bond
Street afternoon can run to £75 in parking before you have bought anything,
assuming you find a space at all.
Below: how the arrangement works, what it
costs, which vehicle fits which kind of day, the ten things included in the
rate, two London routes we run constantly, how hourly hire compares with the
alternatives, and the questions clients ask before booking.
HOURLY CHAUFFEUR HIRE: YOUR VEHICLE, YOUR SCHEDULE
The industry calls this “as directed”,
which undersells it. In practice it means a morning of meetings across the City of
London, an afternoon between Knightsbridge
and Mayfair,
or a private tour at your own pace, all under one booking.
Every chauffeur is suited, TfL-licensed
and enhanced DBS-checked, and every vehicle is under three years old. Nobody
stands on Sloane Street with bags trying to hail something.
Pricing is per hour and fixed, with no surge at 17:00 on a Friday and no metered add-ons. The rate card above applies whatever the day or hour, and the three-hour minimum is the only floor.
One detail worth knowing before you book: hourly packages carry a published
mileage allowance, roughly 12 miles for each hour booked. A four-hour hire
includes 49 miles and an eight-hour hire 99 miles, which comfortably covers a
central London day but is worth checking against a run out to Bicester Village
or Windsor. Most competitors leave this unstated until the invoice.
Beyond seven or eight hours, full-day
hire
usually works out better, and firms booking regularly should ask about a corporate
account.
Which car you choose then depends on what you are carrying.

From £45 an hour in an E-Class, £55 in a V-Class, £65 in an S-Class or BMW 7 Series and £75 in a Range Rover. The rate covers the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel and all waiting time.
Three hours. After that you can extend in 30-minute increments at the same hourly rate, subject to availability. Most clients book three to four hours for shopping or a run of meetings.
Yes, at no extra charge. Your chauffeur parks nearby and waits as long as you need. A text brings the car back to the kerb within a few minutes.
There is an allowance, roughly 12 miles per hour booked: 49 miles across four hours, 99 across eight. Central London days rarely approach it, but a run to Bicester Village or Windsor is worth mentioning when you book.
Boot space decides it. The Range Rover takes 8 to 10 large bags, the V-Class 12 or more, and the S-Class 6 to 8. For a full Knightsbridge and Mayfair circuit, choose one of the first two.
For three to six hours, hourly wins. Past seven or eight hours, the day rate is usually cheaper for the same time, so ask before you book if your schedule is likely to run long.
Yes, where a journey enters the zone. That charge went up to £18 a day in January 2026, and our vehicles are ULEZ compliant, so neither reaches your invoice.
Yes, and it’s popular with families and international visitors. Three to four hours covers Westminster, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, St Paul’s and the South Bank at your own pace. Longer itineraries suit our private tours.
